SEO-ing Your Website
What is SEO? The abbreviation SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization. It is the process of improving the volume of traffic to a web site via search engines through relevant keywords. The more traffic a website gets, the higher his ranking will be in search engine results. This is essentially SEO promotion and it is used by many webmasters today.
How does SEO work? It does by satisfying the search engine algorithms. The search engines uses advance mathematical equations to analyze and arrange webs. Websites that relates to those algorithms with the largest relevancy gets the top spot in search results. The equations (algorithms) are then decoded through different tests by search engine optimizers. But there is no specific formula as to how SEO works.
You need a good keyword to drive traffic to your website. Keywords are phrases or terms that you would expect a person to type in a search box when looking for certain information on the Internet. In every page of your website, you can only use a specific keyword or keywords. When you apply SEO, you can gain traffic by using plenty of pages focused on a specific term or phrase.
To rank well for competitive terms, you should get links. If possible, you would want the links pointing to your website to use your keywords in them. Sometimes, it is a good idea to use your keywords in your domain name when possible. If you are not knowledgeable or skilled in these things, it is always a wise idea to hire an SEO seo company to do the job for you.
If a person is searching for information using a search engine, that person is actually not searching the web but the caches. Search engines take some time finding and properly indexing new links and pages. If a user has just started using SEO techniques, then it may take him up to 6 months or longer to gain a top ranking for a competitive phrase.
Part of any SEO campaign has to do with building links. The more links you have, the more people are probably going to click those links to get to your site. Backlinking is then a very effective way to build traffic volume. Here basic information you need to take note of in building links:
1. You will need to register your site to major directories as well as small and niche-specific directories. Links that goes through redirection is often not counted by the Search Engines so check if the directories you have chosen are providing static links.
2. Write articles and syndicate them to other sites. Then try to link back to your site in the article signature block using your keywords when possible.
3. Ask your friends, companies and other business partners to link to your site.
4. Buy advertising from related websites.
